GAZA, May 28, 2025 (WAFA) – The death toll in the Gaza Strip has climbed to 54,084, the majority of them women and children, since Israel launched its military offensive on October 7, according to medical sources on Wednesday.
The number of wounded has reached 123,308, with thousands still trapped under rubble, as rescue efforts remain severely hampered by the ongoing bombardment.
Over the past 24 hours, 28 more people were confirmed dead, including five bodies recovered from beneath the debris, and 179 others were injured. The figures do not include casualties in northern Gaza, where access to hospitals remains impossible due to heavy fighting.
