Israeli troops raid Tulkarm's Zeita town for 16th straight hour amid West Bank escalation

TULKARM, May 28, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces have Wednesday continued their military raid on the town of Zeita, north of Tulkarm, for the 16th consecutive hour, as part of an escalating operation marked by heavy troop deployments and growing restrictions on residents.

Local sources reported that the Israeli military has sent additional reinforcements into the town in recent hours, erecting several flying checkpoints at main entrances, internal streets, and agricultural areas. Residents have been barred from movement, with several detained for field interrogations and identity checks.

Infantry units were seen patrolling various neighborhoods, particularly near homes that had been previously raided. The occupation forces have also seized control of several homes on the town’s main street, turning them into military outposts and observation points.

On Monday night, Israeli soldiers reportedly assaulted a local resident, leaving him with bruises and injuries.

Two young men, Mohammad Al-Tayeh and Ahmad Zaghloul, were also detained during the raid. Zaghloul was released on Tuesday morning.

The town of Zeita is the latest target in a broader escalation by Israeli forces across the Tulkarm Governorate, These operations routinely include home raids and reports of abuse against civilians.
