RAMALLAH, May 22, 2025 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Plurinational State of Bolivia condemned the Israeli occupation forces' shooting of a diplomatic delegation during its visit to the city of Jenin and its refugee camp yesterday, Wednesday.
The Ministry added in a statement that the use of live ammunition against the diplomatic delegation of 30 countries, members of the United Nations, and representatives of countries (Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, China, Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Turkey, Lithuania, Poland, Japan, Romania, Mexico, Sri Lanka, India, and Chile), as well as others, constitutes a serious violation of international law, particularly the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, to which Israel is a party.
It noted that this incident constitutes a direct attack against the basic principles of relations between states and the protection of accredited diplomatic personnel.
In a related context, the Republic of Peru condemned the Israeli occupation forces' shooting of the diplomatic delegation in the city of Jenin and expressed its concern over the dangerous developments in the Gaza Strip, particularly the recent statements issued by the Israeli occupation authorities regarding the expansion of military operations and the forced resettlement of citizens.
It pointed out that this, in addition to the ongoing airstrikes that continue to cause the deaths of a large number of civilians, including children and vulnerable individuals, constitutes an unacceptable violation of international humanitarian law.
Peru reiterated its urgent call for an immediate end to the aggression on the Gaza Strip and the commencement of negotiations that will achieve lasting peace in that region.
It also reaffirmed its commitment to and support for the two-state solution, whereby two states coexist peacefully within secure and mutually agreed-upon borders, in accordance with United Nations resolutions.
