AMMAN, May 16, 2025 (WAFA) – Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs on Friday denounced Israel's targeting of the European Hospital in Khan Yunis, Gaza Strip, knocking it out of commission, according to Jordan News Agency (Petra).
The Ministry’s official spokesperson, Ambassador Sufian Al-Qudah, stated that the attack was a blatant breach of both international humanitarian law and international law, as well as the 1949 Geneva Convention relative on the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War.
He reiterated Jordan’s unequivocal rejection and strong condemnation of Israel's ongoing aggression on Gaza, its systematic targeting of civilians and civilian-related objects in the Strip, its destruction of essential facilities that provide the Gazans with basic services, and its continued use of siege and hunger as tools to force Palestinians to flee their homes.
He cautioned about the ramifications for regional security and stability of Israel's continuous violations in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank.
He urged the international community to fulfill its moral and legal obligations, force Israel to immediately stop its aggression against Gaza, open the crossings used to deliver humanitarian aid to the Strip, and respect the Palestinian people's legitimate right to establish their own independent, sovereign state on pre-1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital.
