AMMAN, April 13 (Petra) -- The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned on Sunday the Israeli bombing of the Baptist Hospital in Gaza City, which has rendered the facility completely inoperable, as reported by Jordan’s Petra news agency.
The Ministry condemned the attack as a blatant violation of international law, including international humanitarian law, and a clear breach of the 1949 Geneva Convention on the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War.
Ministry spokesperson Sufian Qudah said the Kingdom rejects and condemns the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza, denouncing the "systematic" targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure, as well as the destruction of vital facilities that provide essential services to the Gazan population, said Petra.
Qudah accused Israel of deliberately using starvation and blockades as means to drive Palestinians from their land, warning that such violations could have serious consequences for regional stability and security.
Qudah called on the international community to uphold its legal and moral responsibilities and compel Israel to immediately halt its aggression against Gaza, open the crossings designated for the delivery of humanitarian aid and fulfill the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to establish their sovereign and independent state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He also demanded an end to the ongoing crimes against Palestinians and accountability for those responsible.
