RAMALLAH, March 28, 2025 (WAFA) – The Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ministry Friday cautioned against the steps taken by the Israeli occupation against the institutions of the State of Palestine.
The Ministry said in a press statement that the latest of such Israeli steps is the Israeli government’s anticipated decision ordering the Israeli Ministry of Regional Cooperation to cease dealings with Palestinian institutions as a regional partner in joint projects in the fields of agriculture, environment, and renewable energy, among others, particularly given the fact that Israel continues to control border crossings and Palestinian resources.
Israeli media reported that under this decision, “the ministry will stop supporting projects and activities in cooperation with the residents of the PA, and it will no longer be considered "one of the countries of the region." The decision is valid until a new government decision is made, or until the end of 2025, whichever comes first.”
The Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ministry considered the Israeli Ministry of Regional Cooperation’s decision and steps to be an integral part of the Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people and of the reneging by successive Israeli governments headed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the signed agreements, and that they constitute an attempt to undermine the institutions of the State of Palestine, particularly given ongoing Israeli invasions across the West Bank, withholding the clearance tax revenues, land theft, home demolitions, colonial settlement construction, and tightening restrictions on Palestinians’ movement through a complex combination of approximately 898 fixed and flying checkpoints and gates.
It called on the international community to deal seriously and decisively with the ongoing Israeli genocidal crimes and Israel’s steps intended not only to besiege and undermine Palestinian institutions but also to defy international will to enable the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state and bring Israeli occupation and settler-colonialism to an end.
