Jordan condemns Israeli statements on Palestinian statehood and Saudi Arabia

AMMAN, February 9, 2025 (WAFA) – The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has strongly condemned the Israeli statements denying the Palestinians' right to establish their independent and sovereign state on their own land.

These statements, which also advocate for the establishment of a Palestinian state on Saudi Arabian territory, were described by Jordan as provocative and inciting, representing a clear violation of international law, relevant United Nations resolutions, and the sovereignty of states.

In a statement issued today, the Jordanian Ministry's spokesperson, Ambassador Sufyan Qudah, reiterated that the Israeli government continues its provocative policies and statements that undermine the sovereignty of nations and the principles of international law. He emphasized Jordan’s absolute rejection of these inflammatory remarks, which reflect an exclusionary, inciting ideology against peace and further fuel tensions in the region.

Ambassador Qudah expressed Jordan's full support and solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, calling on the international community to condemn and denounce these irresponsible statements.

The spokesperson further stated that the Israeli government's attempt to obscure the root cause of the ongoing conflict in the region—namely, the occupation and violation of Palestinian rights—would not succeed.

He reaffirmed that the Palestinian people remain steadfast in their commitment to their land and their right to establish an independent state with full sovereignty, based on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital. He stressed that security, peace, and stability in the region cannot be achieved without this fundamental principle.

Ambassador Qudah also called for an immediate halt to all Israeli escalation measures in the occupied West Bank, including the dangerous and ongoing incursions, settlement expansion, and land seizures, all of which further entrench the occupation.
