Saudi Arabia strongly rejects Netanyahu’s statements on displacing Palestinians

RIYADH, February 9, 2025 (WAFA) – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has firmly rejected Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent comments about the forced displacement of the Palestinian people from their homeland.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Saudi Arabia expressed its appreciation for the condemnation from fellow Arab and Islamic countries, as well as their clear stance in support of Palestinian rights and the centrality of the Palestinian cause.

Saudi Arabia condemned Netanyahu's remarks as an attempt to divert attention from the ongoing crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against Palestinians, particularly in Gaza, where they face ongoing ethnic cleansing.

The Kingdom emphasized that such extremist rhetoric fails to recognize the profound historical, legal, and emotional connection that the Palestinian people have to their land, and it disregards the fundamental right of the Palestinian people to live in dignity on their own land.

The statement highlighted the devastating impact of Israel’s aggression on Gaza, where more than 160,000 people have been killed or injured, the majority being women and children, without any regard for human rights or moral responsibility.

Saudi Arabia reiterated that the Palestinian people are rightful owners of their land and cannot be treated as foreigners or migrants who can be expelled at will by the Israeli occupation.

Furthermore, the Kingdom pointed out that those who espouse such extremist views have prevented Israel from accepting peace, rejecting the principle of peaceful coexistence and the peace initiatives put forward by Arab nations.

Saudi Arabia affirmed that the Palestinian people’s right to their land is inalienable and cannot be taken away, no matter how long it takes. It reiterated that lasting peace can only be achieved by returning to reason and accepting the principle of peaceful coexistence through a two-state solution, as the only viable path toward a just and sustainable resolution.
