Thousands protest in New York against ongoing genocide in Gaza

NEW YORK, December 22, 2024 (WAFA) — Thousands of activists took to the streets of New York today, protesting the continued bloodshed and genocide committed by the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

Taking advantage of one of the busiest shopping days of the year, ahead of the Christmas holidays, protesters gathered in prominent locations across the city, including the bustling Times Square and major commercial hubs.

The strategic timing aimed to draw attention to the ongoing crisis in Gaza, where the death toll continues to rise and humanitarian conditions worsen after 15 months of ongoing Israeli genocide.

The demonstrators carried banners and chanted slogans demanding an immediate end to the war in Gaza, calling for a ceasefire and an end to U.S. military support for Israeli operations. They also urged American lawmakers to stop funding what they referred to as the ongoing war in Gaza.
