Activists stage sit-ins at Apple stores in U.S. in protest against company’s support for Israel

WASHINGTON DC, December 1, 2024 (WAFA) – Dozens of activists have staged sit-ins at several Apple stores across the United States to protest the company's support for the Israeli occupation.

The protest specifically targeted Apple's operation of its second-largest development center on Palestinian land, as well as its broader involvement in supporting Israeli policies.

The demonstrators also voiced their opposition to Apple’s decision to lay off Palestinian-origin employees and to pressure others to remain silent regarding the Palestinian cause and the genocide being perpetrated by Israel against the Palestinian people.

Many of the protesters lay on the floors of Apple stores, draped in shrouds to symbolize the victims of Israeli genocide, aiming to send a powerful message about corporate complicity in the ongoing occupation and atrocities in Palestine.

The protests are part of a global movement aimed at holding some of the major global brands accountable for their role in supporting Israel’s atrocities in Gaza and elsewhere across Palestine.
