PCBS report says Consumer Price Index (CPI) sharply increased by 359% one year after Israel's aggression on Gaza

RAMALLAH,  November 14, 2024 (WAFA) – According to a report by Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), after one year of the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) sharply increased by 359%.

The report said that the overall Consumer Price Index CPI for Palestine during October, 10/2024 sharply increased by 9.19% compared with September 2024 (19.84% in Gaza Strip. While, the CPI decreased by 1.01% in the West Bank, and by 0.41% in Jerusalem J1*).

The changes in Palestinian CPI during October 2024 were traced back to changes in prices of the following expenditure subgroups compared with the previous month:

The Palestinian CPI during October 2024 increased by 70.40% compared with October 2023 (309.41% in Gaza Strip, by 3.03% in Jerusalem J1, and by 1.85% in the West Bank.)
