Jordan condemns deadly Israeli strike on school sheltering displaced families in Nuseirat

AMMAN, October 24, 2024 (WAFA) – The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has condemned Israel's recent deadly airstrike on a school in Nuseirat refugee camp, which houses displaced persons in the central Gaza Strip. The attack resulted in numerous casualties among innocent Palestinian civilians.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the ministry described the strike as a heinous crime that adds to the list of war crimes committed by Israel against the Palestinian people. It characterized the incident as a blatant violation of international law and humanitarian principles, emphasizing the systematic targeting of civilians and shelters for the displaced.

Spokesperson Ambassador Sufyan Qudah reiterated Jordan's unequivocal rejection and condemnation of the ongoing Israeli violations against civilians, highlighting that these actions represent a serious breach of international law, international humanitarian law, and the 1949 Geneva Conventions designed to protect civilians in wartime.

He noted that Israel shows little regard for the international community's calls to halt hostilities, which have led to an unprecedented humanitarian disaster.
