RAMALLAH, September, 12, 2024 (WAFA) – TPalestinian karate player, Maryam Bisharat, won the gold medal of the World Junior and Youth Championship after defeating the Egyptian player in the final match.

Basharat, 21, played against the Egyptian player in the final of the World Junior and Youth Championship held in the Italian city of Venice, for the first time in the history of Palestine.

This came after her victory in the semi-final against the Italian national team player with a score of 8-3.

Basharat had defeated the Belgian national team player in the quarter-finals with a score of 7-1, and in the round of 16 she defeated her Swiss counterpart 1-0. In her first match, she defeated the Bosnia and Herzegovina player with a score of 4-0.

Basharat was crowned champion of the Asian Championship for the game last August, and champion of the World League Championship at the end of last May.
