Greta Thunberg condemns Israeli genocide in Palestine during Stockholm protest

STOCKHOLM, September 21, 2024 (WAFA) – Climate activist Greta Thunberg condemned the ongoing Israeli atrocities in Palestine as "horrific genocide" during a demonstration in Stockholm, Sweden, attended by thousands in support of the Palestinian people. Thunberg emphasized that silence regarding these actions amounts to complicity.

Speaking to reporters, she expressed her disbelief that people could witness the genocide occurring in real time and continue their daily lives without concern. "Anyone who has the means to act must raise their voice and do everything possible to stop it," she stated.

Thunberg suggested that countries like Sweden could take measures such as boycotting Israeli companies, withdrawing investments, and imposing sanctions.

The protest took place in the Odenplan area of Stockholm, organized by various civil society groups to denounce the ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza. Participants waved Palestinian flags and held signs with messages such as "Children are being killed in Gaza," "Stop the genocide," and "Palestine forever."
