NEW YORK, August 30, 2024 (WAFA) - Algeria's Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Nassim Qawawi, has called for holding Israel accountable for its systematic and severe violations of international humanitarian law in Palestine. 

In a statement made last night, Qawawi denounced the obstruction of humanitarian aid and the targeting of humanitarian workers by Israeli forces, describing these actions as part of a deliberate policy aimed at eroding Palestinian hope and dignity.

He also raised concerns about the potential spread of diseases, including cholera, attributing this risk to the ongoing Israeli aggression. Qawwawi emphasized that, as the occupying power, Israel bears responsibility for the safety and success of vaccination campaigns in Gaza.

Furthermore, he cautioned against any interference with these efforts or targeting of those involved in the campaigns.
