Palestinian wins middleweight UFC champion, makes history

LONDON, Monday, July 29, 2024 (WAFA) – Palestinian martial arts player Bilal Mohammad was crowned the middleweight world champion in martial arts (UFC 304), following a global fight held on Sunday in the British city of Manchester, officially becomeing the first Arab middleweight champion in UFC history.

The Palestinian champion, 36, who lives in Chicago, was crowned after winning over the British world champion Leon Edwards following 10 consecutive victories he achieved over the past years without defeats.

Mohammad raised the Palestinian flag to the sounds of Palestinian folk songs as he entered the battlefields and achieved victories over his rivals.

The Palestinian community in the United Kingdom celebrated the Palestinian hero in the streets of Manchester, who was able to convey the Palestinian voice and the creativity of our people in important international matches.
