Trump injured in shooting at Pennsylvania rally

WASHINGTON DC, Sunday , July 14, 2024 (WAFA) - Former U.S. President Donald Trump was shot in the ear on Saturday evening while speaking onstage at his rally in Pennsylvania, in an incident that’s being investigated as an assassination attempt.

Video footage captured multiple gunshots ringing out during Trump's speech, showing blood on his ear and a sniper on a nearby rooftop overlooking the platform where Trump stood.

CNN reported that Trump was hit in the shooting. The U.S. Secret Service stated that their personnel fatally shot the gunman, but provided no further details about the assailant. The statement also mentioned one attendee killed and two others critically injured.

Following the shooting, Trump spoke from Pennsylvanian Medical Center, saying, "I was shot in the upper part of my right ear, but I am okay."

Authorities are investigating the incident as details continue to emerge regarding the motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting at the rally.
