Saudi Arabia condemns ongoing Israeli genocidal massacres against Palestinians

RIYADH, Saturday, July 13, 2024 (WAFA) – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today condemned the ongoing Israeli genocidal massacres against the Palestinian people.

The Kingdom’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs decried in a press release the massacre carried out by the Israeli war machine against the Palestinian people, the latest of which was the killing and wounding of dozens of Palestinians in Israeli strikes on a displaced people's camp in the Mawasi district of Khan Younis, an area that Israel had reportedly designated a safe zone.

It renewed its call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire and the provision of protection to defenceless civilians in all parts of the occupied Palestinian territories.

It stressed the need to activate all mechanisms of international accountability vis-à-vis the ongoing Israeli violations of international humanitarian law and United Nations resolutions.

Gaza's health ministry said at least 88 Palestinians were killed in Saturday's attack, adding that 289 others were injured.

Israel has proceeded with its genocidal offensive on the war-torn Strip in complete disregard of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which ordered Israel in a legally binding decision to halt its military offensive in Rafah, which may violate its obligations under the Genocide Convention.

Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, killing at least 38,443 Palestinians and injuring over 88,481 others.

Moreover, at least 10,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.

Palestinian and international organizations say that the majority of those killed and wounded are women and children.

The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafah near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.
