JEDDAH, Monday. July 8, 2024 (WAFA) - The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, received in his office today the Special Envoy of the Kingdom of Norway to the OIC, Thomas Lid Ball.
During the meeting, the Palestinian issue and ways to strengthen international efforts to reach a just and comprehensive solution that guarantees peace and stability in the region were discussed.
Furthermore, the importance of adhering to the principle of a two-state solution and establishing a sovereign Palestinian state with East Al-Quds as its capital was discussed.
In this context, the Secretary-General expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by Norway in supporting the two-state solution and reaching a just peace agreement and commended its role in recognizing the State of Palestine, which will contribute to achieving the two-state solution.
He also commended the active role that Norway plays in promoting peace and stability in the region.
For his part, the Norwegian Special Envoy, Ambassador Thomas Lid Ball, expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the OIC in supporting the Palestinian cause and affirmed his country's commitment to working with the international community and regional partners to achieve peace in the region.
