UN says Israel prevented entry of aid sent to Gaza

NEW YORK, Tuesday, July 2 2024 (WAFA) – The United Nations said that Israel prevented the arrival of more than half of the aid sent to the northern Gaza Strip last June.

This came in a press conference by United Nations spokesman Stéphane Dujarric, in which he explained that the displaced people in Gaza suffer from a major shortage of shelter materials or vital supplies.

He pointed out that distributing humanitarian aid through Karam Abu Salam border gate is almost impossible due to security problems and fuel shortages.

Dujarric pointed out that unexploded ordnance in Gaza poses a great danger, especially to children, pointing out that a 9-year-old girl was killed in Khan Yunis last Saturday because of these munitions.

He added that Israel prevented the arrival of more than half of the 115 planned aid missions to northern Gaza during June.
