RAMALLAH, Sunday, June 30, 2024 (WAFA) - The Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS), said a significant increase was recorded since the beginning of the Israeli aggression in the number of Palestinian detainees who were injured by Israeli forces during or before their detention.
They highlighted the double suffering of wounded detainees in the occupation prisons and detention camps in light of the numerous testimonies of wounded detainees who were subjected to medical crimes, especially after their transfer to prisons.
These crimes have also doubled in detention camps where Gaza detainees were held, said a statement issued by the Commission and PPS.
According to the statement, some detainees were subjected to limb amputations without anesthesia, and some underwent surgery without anesthesia. “This constitutes a part of the medical crimes committed against detainees.”
