NEW YORK, Sunday, June 30, 2024 (WAFA) – The United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Tor Wennesland, has condemned the recent announcement by an Israeli Cabinet Minister regarding the decision to legalize five colonial outposts in the occupied West Bank.
Wennesland added on his X account that “such actions, alongside other steps that undermine the Palestinian Authority and entrench settlement advancement in the West Bank, exacerbate tensions and diminish viability of achieving a negotiated peace on the basis of a two-State solution.”
He stressed that “settlements are a flagrant violation of international law and UN resolutions.”
