RIYADH, Tuesday, June 11, 2024 (WAFA) - The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the adoption of the UN Security Council resolution submitted by the United States, in which it called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, a prisoners’ exchange deal and a return to political negotiations to find sustainable solutions to the crisis in Gaza that puts an end the humanitarian suffering there.
The Saudi foreign ministry stressed the importance of commitment by all parties to the crisis to end the prolonged war.
It reiterated its full support for all international efforts aimed at reaching a sustainable ceasefire and resolving the Palestinian issue in accordance with international resolutions, thus better contributing to the region's stability and supporting the achievement of global security and peace.
Kuwait and the Sultanate of Oman also welcomed the adoption of the US-sponsored resolution.
The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry praised, in a statement, the adoption of this resolution as an important pivotal step towards putting an end to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities to ensure the implementation of its provisions.
The foreign ministry of Oman stressed the need for the international community to implement the resolution and oblige the occupying State, Israel, not to attempt to evade its responsibilities and the international demands to stop its aggression against the Strip.
