CARIO, Tuesday, June 11, 2024 (WAFA) –Egypt welcomed the adoption by the UN Security Council of a resolution calling for an immediate and complete ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the complete withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces from the Gaza Strip, and the return of the displaced to their homes and neighborhoods throughout the Strip.
The Egyptian Ministry renewed its calls on Israel for the importance of complying with its obligations in accordance with the provisions of international law, and to stop the war it is waging against the Gaza Strip, and the killing and destruction it has caused that has affected the Palestinians and the entire infrastructure in the Strip.
It also called for taking serious steps for an immediate implementation of a UN Security Council resolution as soon as possible and ensuring full access to humanitarian aid that meets the needs of the residents of the Gaza Strip.
The Ministry further stressed the need for serious action by international parties to find a political horizon for implementing the two-state solution and establishing an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
