WASHINGTON DC, Sunday, June 9, 2024 (WAFA) – Thousands of demonstrators gathered yesterday in front of the White House in Washington D.C. to protest the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza and to denounce U.S. President Joe Biden's silence on the atrocities perpetrated by the Israeli occupation.
Protesters from nearby states, including Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, New York, and New Jersey, convened in Washington, D.C., chanting "From D.C. to Palestine, we are the red line." They displayed a long banner with the names of those killed in the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza.
Carrying Palestinian flags, the participants marched through the streets of Washington, demanding an end to the assault, protection for the Palestinian people, and the provision of necessary aid.
President Biden faces intense criticism in the United States, with some Americans believing he is not doing enough to influence the Israeli government and press it to halt the war.
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation has been waging a relentless war on Gaza, so far killing 36,801 people, the majority of whom are children and women, and injuring 83,680 others. Thousands more remain trapped under rubble or in the streets.
