PARIS, Friday, May 31, 2024 (WAFA) – France has decided to revoke the participation of Israeli military companies in the Eurosatory 2024, the international land and air defense and security exhibition.
The organizing company, COGES Events, announced today that Israel's participation in the exhibition scheduled for June 17 in Paris has been canceled by the decision of French authorities.
According to Agence France-Presse, "By decision of the government authorities, there will be no Israeli military industries pavilion at the Eurosatory 2024 exhibition," while 74 Israeli companies were expected to showcase their equipment.
The organizing company and the Ministry of Defense, which sponsors the event, did not specify the reasons for the decision. However, according to the French news agency, it comes just days after the Israeli army bombed refugee tents in Rafah, resulting in dozens of casualties and injuries.
The deadly Israeli attack sparked international outrage and led to numerous demonstrations in France against Israeli military aggression on the Gaza Strip.
The exhibition boasts the participation of over 2,000 companies, including 74 Israeli companies expected to attend, showcasing their major defense industries.
