CAIRO, Monday, May 27, 2027 (WAFA) – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed the need to intensify efforts to contain the situation and stop the war in order to put an end to the ongoing humanitarian tragedy experienced by the people of the Gaza Strip.
President El-Sisi received a delegation of members of the US Congress from both the Democratic and Republican parties, headed by Senator Jerry Moran, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, in the presence of the head of Egyptian General Intelligence, Major General Abbas Kamel.
The official spokesman for the Egyptian presidency said that the meeting witnessed an in-depth dialogue on the overall regional situation, especially the developments in the ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian territories.
The Egyptian President also warned of the dire consequences that might be resulted from the Israeli military operations in the city of Rafah.
He further called for the necessity of serious international engagement in implementing the two-state solution in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, stressing it is the path to achieving justice, peace and security for all the peoples of the region.
