CAIRO, Monday, May 27, 2027 (WAFA) - Egypt has condemned the deliberate bombing by the Israeli occupation forces of the tents of displaced persons in the city of Rafah, which resulted in the killing of more than 40 citizens and injuring dozens, in a new and blatant violation of the provisions of international humanitarian law and the provisions of the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949 regarding the protection of civilian persons in time of war. .
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egypt considered this tragic event an attempt to continue targeting defenseless civilians and the systematic policy aimed at expanding killing and destruction in the Gaza Strip to make it unlivable.
Egypt called on Israel to comply with its legal obligations as an occupying power, and to implement the measures issued by the International Court of Justice regarding the immediate cessation of military operations and any other measures in the city of Rafah.
It renewed its call to the Security Council and influential international parties for the need to intervene immediately to ensure an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and to end military operations in the city of Rafah, stressing the inevitability of the international community assuming its legal and humanitarian responsibility to provide protection for Palestinian civilians and prevent their exposure to life-threatening risks.
