RAMALLAH, Saturday, May 11, 2024 (WAFA) – Several capitals and cities around the world witnessed massive protests today against the Israeli ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip, which has so far claimed the lives of over 35,000 Palestinians.
Thousands participated in demonstrations held in the Swedish cities of Malmo and Uppsala, the French capital Paris, the Norwegian capital Oslo, the German capital Berlin, and the Tunisian capital Tunis.
Additionally, several universities worldwide, notably Oxford and Cambridge in the United Kingdom, joined the global student uprising in solidarity with the Palestinian people, demanding an immediate ceasefire and divestment from Israeli genocide.
Protesters raised Palestinian flags and banners condemning the Israeli war on Gaza and the killing of Palestinian children, calling for Israel to be held accountable for committing genocide.
Participants also urged the prosecution of the occupation for its massacres against the Palestinian people, especially children, denouncing the genocide inflicted on the Palestinian people in the Strip.
In the Swedish city of Malmo, tens of thousands of people protested Israel's participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024.
Approximately 30,000 people gathered in, Stortorget, the main square in Malmo, responding to calls from several civil organizations, demanding Israel's removal from Eurovision.
Protesters carried banners with slogans such as "Children are dying in Gaza," "Stop the genocide," and "Palestine forever," chanting "Free Palestine," "End the occupation," and "Israel is criminal."
