Six-party Arab group calls for ending the Israeli aggression on Gaza

RIYADH, Sunday, April 28, 2024 (WAFA) Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan hosted a ministerial meeting in Riyadh yesterday with representatives from six other Arab nations to discuss the situation in Gaza, according to a report by the Saudi Press Agency.

Egypt’s Sameh Shoukry, Ayman Al-Safadi of Jordan, Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Hussein Al-Sheikh, diplomatic advisor to the UAE President, Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, and Minister of State at the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, were present in this meeting.

The leaders discussed the need to end the war in the Gaza Strip, achieve an immediate and complete ceasefire, ensure the protection of civilians in accordance with international humanitarian law, and remove all restrictions that impede the flow of humanitarian aid to the region.

The leaders also expressed their support for all efforts aimed at recognizing an independent Palestinian state and that it is essential that the Palestinians take irreversible steps to implement the two-state solution.

The ministers emphasized the necessity of establishing a state of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital based on the borders of June 4, 1967, in accordance with relevant international resolutions.

They strongly opposed any attempt to displace Palestinians from their land or any Israeli military offensive in the Palestinian city of Rafah.
