LONDON, Tuesday, April 02, 2024 (WAFA) – British Foreign Secretary David Cameron said on Tuesday that the United Kingdom called on Israel to urgently investigate and provide a “comprehensive and transparent explanations” after seven aid workers, including British nationals, from World Central Kitchen were killed following an Israeli airstrike that targeted their vehicle in the Gaza Strip.
The Foreign Minister said in a post on the “X” platform, “humanitarian aid workers must be protected and able to carry out their mission.”
US-based aid group World Central Kitchen confirmed in a press statement that seven of its team members were killed in a targeted attack by the Israeli military tanks and warplanes.
The organization called on Israel to stop “this indiscriminate killing” in Gaza.
It further stressed that among the victims were citizens "from Australia, Poland, the United Kingdom, a citizen holding dual American and Canadian citizenship, and a Palestinian."
The Palestinian death toll from Israel's deadly offensive against the Gaza Strip since October 7th, 2023, has now soared to 32,916, medical sources confirmed on Thursday.
Additionally, 75,494 individuals have been injured, with thousands still missing under the rubble and on the streets. The Israeli occupation continues to obstruct ambulance and rescue teams from reaching them.
