RABAT, Thursday, November 2, 2023 (WAFA) — Morocco has expressed its profound dismay and concerns over the ongoing, murderous Israeli campaign in Gaza, denouncing the international community’s indifference to the suffering and murder of Palestinians.

In a statement released today, Morocco’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its concerns over the worsening humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip amid Israel’s constant bombardment of places of worship, hospitals, and refugee camps across Gaza.

“[Israel'] launching of rockets and shells on civilian structures in a random manner has increased, forcing over a million people to evacuate. The population has been deprived of water, electricity, and fuel, leading to a catastrophic humanitarian situation,” the statement said.

In response to the ongoing Israeli aggression, the Moroccan ministry emphasized that the Israeli aggression contradicts international humanitarian law and shared human values.

“They portend the expansion of conflict within Palestinian territories and the dangerous spread of violence into neighboring regions, threatening the overall security and stability of the region,” the statement added, deploring the international community’s inaction and the Security Council’s failure to fulfill its responsibilities.

Morocco also condemned the “ineffectiveness of influential countries” in putting an end to the devastating situation in Gaza.

The statement renewed Morocco’s support for the Palestinian cause and Palestine, calling for de-escalation that would lead to a ceasefire.

The Moroccan government also called for facilitating humanitarian aid into Gaza without obstacles.
