Newspapers Review: Attacks against Israelis that left three dead highlights of the dailies

RAMALLAH, Saturday, April 8, 2023 (WAFA) – The two attacks in Tel Aviv and in the Jordan Valley in the occupied West Bank that three people dead were highlighted on the front page of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies published today al-Quds, al-Ayyam, and al-Hayat al-Jadida.

They said that the Israeli army has beefed up its forces in light of the rise in tension in Israel, the West Bank, the northern borders with Lebanon, and the southern borders with the Gaza Strip.

They said the Israeli army attacked positions in the Gaza Strip and South Lebanon in alleged retaliation for rockets fired from these areas into Israel. Damage was caused but no injuries.

At the same time, the dailies reported on the Palestinians shot and injured by Israeli army gunfire during the suppression of protests in the occupied West Bank.

Al-Quds reported on the protests in the Gaza Strip, in the Arab towns in Israel, and in Jordan against the aggression by the Israeli occupation forces against Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem and the Palestinian worshippers.

It said that despite the Israeli restrictions, some 130,000 Muslims attended the third Friday of Ramadan prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Al-Ayyam said the resistance movements in the Gaza Strip have warned that any aggression against Al-Aqsa will face a response.

It said Israeli settlers rampaged throughout the West Bank under army protection, attacking Palestinian commuters on the roads.

It also said Christians in Jerusalem marked Easter’s Good Friday at the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem’s Old City.

Al-Hayat al-Jadida said Palestinians from the village of Iqrit in northern Israel celebrated Good Friday on the ruins of their village destroyed by the Israeli army following the occupation of Palestine in 1948.

It also said Israeli police attacked Palestinians in Arab towns in Israel protesting the aggression against Al-Aqsa Mosque.
