RAMALLAH, September 14, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli colonist militias on Monday evening attacked the village of Burqa, east of Ramallah, according to local sources.

They said that armed colonists attacked the eastern part of the village and attempted to steal livestock.

Burqa and the surrounding villages and towns have witnessed repeated attacks by colonists amid the escalation of colonial settlement expansion and land seizure in the area.

Meanwhile, colonists continued to expand the colonial outpost atop al-Asour Hill, east of Ramallah, leveling large tracts of Palestinian-owned land.

According to the Wall and Colonization Resistance Commission (WCRC), Israeli occupation forces and colonists carried out 2,030 attacks in August, including 1,402 attacks by the occupation forces and 628 by colonists. The attacks were concentrated in the governorates of Nablus, Ramallah and al-Bireh, Hebron, Bethlehem, Jenin, and Jerusalem.

Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
