TEL AVIV, September 14, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli Culture Minister Miki Zohar has threatened to revoke the citizenship of the filmmakers behind the documentary "No Other Land" (known as "Naza"), which documents Israel's crimes in the Gaza Strip.
This statement followed the announcement last Saturday that the film had won the "Special Jury Prize" at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival in Italy.
In a post on the platform X, Zohar expressed his outrage at the film's victory, claiming that "the win by the despicable film ('No Other Land' / 'Naza') at the Venice Festival is appalling."
He added: "As Minister of Culture, I will immediately work to revoke the Israeli citizenship of these despicable creators on charges of treason against the state."
The awards ceremony for the Venice International Film Festival—the world's oldest film festival, which began on September 2 on Venice's Lido Island—took place on Saturday.
The documentary "No Other Land" (Naza)—produced by *The Guardian* and directed by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor—received high acclaim from festival attendees during its screening; it was met with a standing ovation lasting 25 minutes before being awarded the "Special Jury Prize." Abraham stated that a smear campaign is being waged against the film in Israel, with significant efforts made to prevent the facts from coming to light. He added, "The truth is that in the mere ten days since this festival began, Israel has killed at least six Palestinian children in Gaza."
The film’s title, "Naza," refers to an acronym used by occupation forces to denote the number of Palestinian civilians expected to be killed in an airstrike.
The film was shot covertly on rooftops in Tel Aviv over the course of three years, with the identities, voices, and features of the participants obscured through digital editing.
The individuals appearing in the film speak in detail about the surveillance systems employed during Israeli military offensives and long-range bombing operations.
According to their testimonies, occupation forces utilize artificial intelligence to identify potential targets, often bombing homes and apartments despite knowing that families are inside.
The film also features members of the occupation forces who recount witnessing the burning of residential areas used by Gaza residents as shelters, as well as the killing of people while food was being distributed.
The film notes that some of the speakers served in a secret intelligence unit and reported directly to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
According to medical sources, the total death toll in the Gaza Strip since the ceasefire took effect on October 11 has risen to 1,369, with 4,627 people injured. Consequently, the toll of the war of extermination waged by Israeli occupation forces on the Gaza Strip has risen to 73,783 martyrs and 174,738 injured since October 7, 2023.
