New 6.4 magnitude earthquake hits southern Turkey and felt in Palestine

ANKARA, Monday, February 20, 2023 (WAFA) – A new 6.4 magnitude earthquake hit the Hatay province in southern Turkey tonight and was felt in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine.

The new earthquake is the most severe since the February 6 7.8 magnitude earthquake, which left more than 41,000 people dead in Turkey, according to the Turkish Disaster Management Authority (AFAD).

AFAD located the epicenter of the new earthquake in the town of Dafna, pointing out that it was recorded at 17:04 GMT. It was felt by people in Antakya and Adana, 200 km to the north.
