JERUSALEM, Saturday, October 22, 2022 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces this evening arrested the father and brother of Mohammad Rajab Abu Qteish, a 16-year-old Palestinian teenager who had been shot and injured by Israeli occupation forces earlier today in the occupied Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah.
Witnesses told WAFA that Israeli police officers opened gunfire at the teenager and critically injured him inside a football pitch in the neighborhood, claiming that he had stabbed an Israeli settler a few minutes earlier.
About two hours after the incident in Sheikh Jarrah, an Israeli army force raided the teenager’s family home in the town of Anata, northeast of Jerusalem, and arrested his father, Rajab, and his brother.
Local sources said confrontations erupted between the Israeli army and local Palestinian residents during the raid, during which the former fired teargas canisters and stun grenades at the protesters to disperse them.
