RAMALLAH, Tuesday, August 16, 2022 (WAFA) – Four fishermen from the Gaza Strip were among 24 Palestinians the Israeli occupation forces detained this morning and last night in the occupied Palestinian territories, according to various sources.
They said that Israeli naval forces intercepted a fishing boat offshore of al-Sudaniya, northwest of Gaza city, and detained the four fishermen on board. The navy also seized their boat, reported WAFA correspondent.
In occupied East Jerusalem, Israeli occupation forces detained three Palestinians after raiding their homes in Isawiyya neighborhood.
In the occupied West Bank, Israeli occupation forces detained four Palestinians after storming and ransacking the houses of their families in Silwad town, northeast of Ramallah.
Soldiers also detained two former prisoners; one from Ras Karkar village, northwest of Ramallah, and the other from Deir Jarir town, northeast of Ramallah.
In the southern West Bank, a convoy of military vehicles stormed Deheisheh refugee camp, south of Bethlehem, where the soldiers forcibly entered several houses, conducted thorough searches, and eventually rounded up three people.
During ensuing confrontations, the soldiers opened fire toward local young men protesting the raid, hitting five men with live ammunition in their feet.
Elsewhere in the southern West Bank, the sources confirmed that five Palestinians were detained from the old city of Hebron and two siblings from the Hebron city neighborhood of Ein Sarah.
In the Jordan Valley, soldiers manning the al-Hamra checkpoint, close to Jericho, stopped and detained a resident of Tammun town, south of Tubas.
