RAMALLAH, Saturday, June 25, 2022 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates today condemned the Israeli army killing of 16-year-old Mohammad Abdallah Hamed in the town of Silwad, east of Ramallah, and demanded accountability for the Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people.
“This crime is another one in the series of crimes of field executions committed by Israel,” said the Ministry in a statement, considering it to be “an official policy in the repression, abuse and mass detention of Palestinian citizens.”
It held the Israeli government fully and directly responsible for these crimes, criticizing the international community and states that claim to be champions of human rights yet practice double standards when it comes to Palestinian human rights and Israel's obligations as an occupying power.
The Foreign Ministry said that it is pursuing these crimes with the International Criminal Court and national courts, stressing that “the silence of the international community and the US administration on these crimes is a cover and protection for the occupying power from accountability and encourages it to escape punishment and international justice.”
Hamed was yesterday shot and wounded in clashes between Silwad residents and Israeli occupation forces. He was detained by the army after he was injured and was today reported dead.
