RAMALLAH,
Friday, December 17, 2021 (WAFA) – A low pressure and a cold front are set to
affect the region on Friday, causing temperature to further drop and paving the
way to partly cloudy to cloudy and cold to very cold conditions, particularly
in the mountains, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Occasional
rain showers, possibly torrential, and thunderstorms are expected, starting in
the north and extending to the center. Moderate to active southwesterly to
westerly wind blows in the day, and southwesterly to northwesterly wind blows
in the night. Sea waves are medium in the day, and low to medium in night.
Temperature
in the capital, Jerusalem, and in Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 11 C
and a low of 7 C, and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 10 C and a low of 6 C.
In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to
reach a high of 19 C and a low of 13 C, while it is expected to reach a high of
17 C and a low of 10 C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
The
partly cloudy to cloudy and cold to very cold conditions are set to continue on
Saturday, particularly in the mountains. Scattered rain showers, possibly
torrential, and occasional thunderstorms are expected, with the chance of rain
tapering off towards the night.
Sunday’s
temperature is set to rise, paving the way to partly cloudy to clear and cold
conditions in daytime and very cold conditions in the night.
A
low pressure and a very cold polar front are set to affect the region on
Monday, paving the way to partly cloudy to cloudy and cold conditions in
daytime and very cold conditions in nighttime and causing temperature to drop.
Torrential rain showers are set to fall starting from the evening along with
occasional thunderstorms.
PMD
warns people against the flash floods, slippery roads and low horizontal
visibility on Friday and Saturday.
