RAMALLAH, Thursday, December 9, 2021 (WAFA) – Palestine today recorded 296 new Covid-19 cases and four deaths, according to Health Minister Mai Alkaila.
She announced that 296 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus and four others died of it in the occupied territories.
As part of the 296 new cases, 186 cases were registered in the West Bank and 110 others in the Gaza Strip.
She identified the death cases as a resident of the Gaza Strip, another as a resident of the West Bank district of Hebron, and two others as residents of the West Bank district of Bethlehem.
She added that 243 Covid-19 patients recovered; 223 recovery cases in the West Bank and 20 others in the Gaza Strip.
She pointed that 52 Covid-19 patients are getting treatment in intensive care units and 85 others are currently receiving treatment at hospitals, including 12 who are on ventilators.
She said that the recovery rate in Palestine has so far reached 98.2 percent and the active cases account for 0.8 percent. The death toll stood at 1 percent of total infections.
