RAMALLAH, Thursday, September 23, 2021 (WAFA) - The Committee for Interaction with Israeli Society received today in Ramallah a delegation that included 15 pro-peace activists, including former ministers and members of the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, who support the two-state solution on the basis of relevant United Nations resolutions.
The delegation, headed by Ofer Pines, was received by a number of Palestinian officials who welcomed the delegation and explained the Palestinian position, led by President Mahmoud Abbas, on the conflict.
The dialogue with the guest delegation revolved around mechanisms for renewing joint action after the activity stopped due to the corona pandemic. Members of the delegation showed enthusiasm in investing the changes that took place locally, regionally and internationally in order to revive the political process, in a way that ensures the achievement of a just and comprehensive peace that leads to the establishment of the independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967, borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The meeting stressed the need to work on addressing the Israeli society and the international community in order to pressure the government of Israel to return to the negotiating table on the basis of international legitimacy and within a specific timetable.
