NEW YORK, Monday, August 16, 2021 (WAFA) - Within Our Lifetime, a Palestinian-led community organization in New York, and allied groups will mobilize at the Israeli Consulate General to protest Israel’s ongoing siege, occupation, and colonization of Palestine, as well as the Arab and Middle Eastern governments which continue to normalize relations with Israel. In 2020 alone, Sudan, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and Morocco established diplomatic ties with Israel.

Since May of 2021, Israel has massacred hundreds of Palestinians, including 38-year-old Imad Dweikat, who was protesting illegal settlements, on August 6. The rise in settler-colonial violence, which has been ongoing for more than 70 years, has been accompanied by an upsurge in Palestinian resistance, both in Palestine and in diaspora communities.

Organizers of the rally have said, "We will make it known that despite some Arab nations ceding to normalization efforts, the people of these nations will always stand with the Palestinian people."

This rally is the latest in the organizations’ weekly Globalize the Intifada actions which connect global struggles against Zionism, settler-colonialism, and imperialism.
