NABLUS, August 22, 2012 (WAFA) – Jewish settlers attempted Wednesday to torch two cars belonging to residents of Awarta, a village southeast of Nablus, according to Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors settlement activities in the northern part of the West Bank.
He said settlers wrote racist slogans on walls throughout the village and poured flammable material on the cars. Residents were able to save the cars.
Settlers on Tuesday torched the entrance of a house in the village of Farata, west of Nablus, causing damage. Residents were able to put off the fire before it expanded to the rest of the house.
United Nations reports have warned of a sharp rise in settler violence against Palestinian civilians in the West Bank.
