RAMALLAH, July 31, 2012 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tuesday condemned statements United State presidential hopeful Mitt Romney had made in Jerusalem in which he claimed that the economic gap between Israelis and Palestinians was due to cultural reasons.
The ministry described Romney’s statements as racist and said they were “a blatant violation of international law and the American heritage that supports freedom of people and their independence.”
It said Romney was denying the existence of the occupation and his statements reflect a “low level of culture.”
