SALFIT, July 11, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists have set up several tents on lands belonging to the town of Deir Istiya, northwest of Salfit.
According to anti-settlement activist Nazmi Salman, the tents were pitched on the western side of the town, between Deir Istiya and the neighboring village of Qarawat Bani Hassan.
The local activists warned that the move aimed at seizing land for a new colonial outpost.
Deir Istiya is already heavily encircled by colony activity, with nine established colonies and two illegal outposts occupying its lands — posing a direct and ongoing threat to Palestinian ownership and presence in the area.
