RAMALLAH, November 12, 2011 (WAFA) – Philippine non-resident Ambassador to the Palestinian Authority, Julius Torres Saturday said it’s time for Palestine to fully exercise its rights and gain full membership in the United Nations, according to a press release issued by the foreign ministry.
Torres, who is also the Pilipino ambassador to Jordan, in a meeting with the Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian and African Affairs, Mohammad Tarshehani, in Ramallah, stressed his country’s supporting position of the Palestinian cause up to establishing the Palestinian independent state.
Torres also congratulated the Palestinian people for gaining a full membership in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Tarshehani and Torres discussed the political relations between Philippine and Palestine, as well as worked on a framework for economic, cultural, educational, tourist and athletic cooperation between the two sides.
