GAZA, May 23, 2011 (WAFA) – PLO executive Committee Member, Zakaria al-Agha, said Monday that the PLO is persistent in its peruse to establish a sovereign state on the Palestinian land.

Al-Agha stated in a speech during the 63rd Nakba commemoration that the PLO will continue its efforts with the Security Council and UN general assembly to obtain recognition of the Palestinian state within the 1967 borders and East Jerusalem as its capital next September.

He explained that the PLO will continue its efforts regardless of Israel’s evasiveness of all its commitments of the international law.

Al-Agha commented on Obama’s speech saying “some points need to be taken into consideration and the official Palestinian stance will take its final shape after consultations with all Palestinian factions and Arabs to come up with a united Palestinian stance supported by the Arab world.
