MSD Demands Israel to Stop Settlement Activities in Jerusaem

JERUSALEM, March 1, 2010 (WAFA)- Al-Maqdese Society for Development (MSD)  demanded  the Israeli authorities to stop all settlement activities in Jerusalem.

Commenting on the Israeli plans to build up 600 settlement units near Bisgat Ze’ev Settlement in the occupied Jerusalem, MSD asked Israeli authorities to fulfill its obligations as issued in the United Nations Charter in 1945, and all other international human rights conventions and charters the 4th Geneva Convention and to respect and apply all international resolutions concerning the Palestinian issue. 

It also demanded Israel to return the situation in Jerusalem to its original status before the occupation, without taking any procedures which affect this situation, except which are essential for Palestinians’ needs and their safety and security.

MSD called on the international community, United Nations, The Fourth Geneva Convention parties to meet their legal obligations which come from the Convention calling for protection of civilians at wartime. Also, to respect the international human rights conventions and stop support the settlement policies which the Israel Authorities pursue in the occupied lands, and push them to stop such policies, and return the original situation.
