Armed colonists attack homes in al-Arroub, child detained south of Hebron

HEBRON, May 1, 2026 (WAFA) — Armed Israeli colonists attacked homes at dawn on Friday in the town of al-Arroub, north of Hebron, while Israeli forces detained a 15-year-old boy south of the city, according to local and Palestinian security sources.

Witnesses reported that groups of armed colonists stormed residential homes in Wadi al-Sheikh area in al-Arroub, firing live ammunition heavily toward the houses. The incident caused widespread fear and panic among residents, particularly women and children. No injuries were reported.

Meantime, Palestinian security sources said Israeli forces detained Mohammad Ziad al-Awawdeh, 15, south of Hebron. Troops later raided his family’s home in the al-‘Alqa area south of Hebron, searching the property and damaging its contents.

Israeli forces also carried out raids on several homes in the city of Hebron and in the towns of Idhna and Beit Ula. Residents reported that properties were searched and contents deliberately damaged, though no additional detentions were confirmed.
